Description

This biological analysis unit at NEIKER focuses on assessing soil health by characterizing microbial activity and the biological processes that regulate soil functioning in agro-environmental systems.

Equipment

  • Spectrophotometer — for biochemical analyses, including enzyme activity and biomass content measurements.
  • Fluorescence microplate reader — for enzyme assays, microbial activity measurements, and fluorescence-based tests in microplates.
  • Digital PCR system — for absolute quantification of target genes.
  • Real-time PCR thermocycler — for absolute and relative quantification of structural and functional genes.
  • Automated nucleic acid analysis system — for rapid, reproducible assessment of DNA and RNA quality, quantity, and fragment size.
  • Microscopes — including a Nikon Eclipse Ni, a high-performance microscope, and a custom-built light-sheet microscope.
Services
  • Biological analysis for soil health assessment.
