Description

TEKNIKER’s 6+2-degree-of-freedom (DoF) robotic cell is designed for large-scale metal additive manufacturing using wire-based Laser Metal Deposition (DED-LB/W).

It enables the production of components of up to approximately 1 m³, with deposition rates of up to 6 kg/h. Compared with powder-based processes, this technology offers greater geometric control and also allows the repair and addition of material to existing components.

The system is compatible with steels, Inconel, titanium and copper alloys.

Equipment

  • Concentric wire deposition head
  • Fibre laser with a power output of up to 4 kW
  • Robot and positioning table with 8 degrees of freedom, capable of handling components of up to 1 m³
  • CAM software for generating robotic machining and deposition trajectories
  • Enclosure system for controlled atmospheric conditions
  • Geometric monitoring and control system for component fabrication
