Description

This infrastructure strengthens capabilities in livestock production within the field of nutrition and is designed to support projects and their validation under real production conditions.

It includes measurement systems based on non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology: the “Sniffer” spectrometer, which can be used with milking robots or for manual measurements at the animal’s nostrils, and the GreenFeed system, with one unit adapted for grazing conditions and another for housed animals. Both GreenFeed units feature a double feed hopper and an RFID reader, enabling individual-level methane emission measurements.

This infrastructure facilitates emissions monitoring under real-world farming conditions and the evaluation of on-farm mitigation strategies.

Its aim is to reduce technical and scientific uncertainty and provide evidence to support knowledge transfer to public authorities and industry stakeholders.
