A laboratory dedicated to the testing of a wide range of materials, primarily for the construction sector, but also serving the transportation and energy industries.
The laboratory specializes in wood-based products, coatings and waterproofing materials, adhesives and sealants, polymers, asphalt, cement and cement-based products.
Equipment
- Environmental testing chambers: temperature, humidity, thermal shock, xenon UV exposure and salt spray testing.
- Physical and mechanical testing equipment: universal testing machine, dynamometer, impact tester and abrasion tester.
- Analytical techniques and equipment: Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), FTIR/ATR, Gas Chromatography (GC), HPLC-MS, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA).
- Fire testing equipment: Single Burning Item (SBI) test, cone calorimeter, and smoke opacity and toxicity measurement systems.
- Development of testing programmes
