Description

Manufacturing and characterization unit for short-, long-, and continuous-fiber-reinforced composites.

Equipment

  • Mechanical Testing Laboratory. A laboratory equipped with advanced mechanical characterization systems for fatigue testing, high-speed testing, and impact testing. This laboratory focuses on characterizing composite materials for use in simulation systems.
  • Vertical Compression / Injection Machine. A 200-ton vertical press for compression molding, forming, and injection molding of short-, long-, and continuous-fiber-reinforced thermoplastics.
  • Short-Fiber Compounding Unit. A system for manufacturing materials through melt mixing, with production capacities of 5 kg/h and 50 kg/h.

Services

Material Characterization for CAE

Simulation tools are highly powerful instruments for designing new products. Their success depends largely on the quality of the data used to perform the simulations. Leartiker offers a specialized polymer material characterization service to supply data to various finite element analysis (FEA) software packages used to simulate static mechanical properties, fatigue behavior, dynamic properties, and more. Leartiker uses several finite element analysis software packages and is therefore particularly aware of the importance of reliable material data. It also provides data processing and fitting services so that end users can use the resulting data directly.

Replacement of Metal Parts with Composite Parts

Leartiker offers a comprehensive service for replacing metal components with composite alternatives. Starting from the functionality of the original product, a new design is developed that takes into account the characteristics of polymeric materials and their processing methods. Rheological and structural simulation tools are used in the design process, together with material models best suited to the selected materials.

Once the designs have been validated with the client, a prototype mold is developed and the parts are manufactured using the final material.

Where necessary, Leartiker also offers advanced mechanical characterization services, including impact testing, fatigue testing, and dynamic property assessment.
