Description

TEKNIKER’s laboratory specialises in electrochemical testing aimed at the development and validation of materials for energy storage and generation systems, including water electrolysers (PEM and alkaline) and fuel cells.

It enables the evaluation of the electrochemical performance, stability and efficiency of electrode materials, membranes and catalysts under operating conditions representative of real-world applications.

The laboratory also provides in-situ monitoring through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).

Equipment

  • Three-electrode cells and potentiostats for electrochemical testing
  • Test benches for low-temperature electrolysis systems (PEM and alkaline), with in-situ EIS monitoring
  • Polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyser for hydrogen generation
  • Fuel cell test cells for performance and durability testing
  • Electrochemical analysis instrumentation, including cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)
Services
  • Electrochemical testing of materials in simulated electrolyser and fuel cell environments
  • Characterisation of the electrochemical performance, efficiency and stability of electrodes, membranes and catalysts
  • In-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements
  • Material validation for green hydrogen generation
  • Accelerated durability testing of electrochemical components
  • R&D support in green hydrogen technologies and the hydrogen economy
