Description

An experimental environment dedicated to the development, validation, and demonstration of microgrid systems based on low-voltage AC and DC architectures.

The laboratory enables the study of renewable energy source integration, energy storage systems, and controlled loads. It also supports the evaluation of different control algorithms (grid-following and grid-forming) and operating modes (grid-connected and islanded operation).

It provides a comprehensive platform for designing, testing, and validating microgrids and smart energy systems under both controlled and real-world operating conditions.

Equipment

  • AC electrical grid emulator (25 kW)
  • AC/DC and DC/DC power converters (25 kW to 57 kW)
  • Programmable DC power supplies for generation emulation (3 kW and 30 kW)
  • Programmable AC and DC electronic loads (3 kW and 30 kW)
  • Energy storage systems:
    - Batteries (8 kW and 15 kW)
    - Supercapacitors (5 kW)
  • - LCL filters and coupling components
  • - Instrumentation for monitoring electrical variables and power quality
