Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy (GDOES) equipment for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of coatings and metallic and non-metallic materials.

The system uses a pulsed radio-frequency (RF) plasma source in an argon atmosphere to sputter the sample and generate depth concentration profiles, from the outermost atomic layers to depths exceeding 150 µm. It operates without requiring high vacuum and is capable of analyzing all elements.

• RF glow discharge source operating in an argon atmosphere.

• Sample sputtering chamber (cathode) and anode.
• Optical emission spectrometer with a concave grating and multichannel detection system.
• Data acquisition and processing software for depth profiling and quantification of major and trace elements.
