This infrastructure strengthens capabilities in livestock production within the field of nutrition and is designed to support projects and their validation in the agri-food sector.
It comprises 12 metabolic cages for sheep and 6 respiration chambers equipped with air extraction and pumping systems and airflow measurement capabilities.
The facility enables the measurement of emissions (methane, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen), the conducting of nutritional trials, and the evaluation of mitigation strategies.
Its aim is to reduce technical and scientific uncertainty and generate evidence to support knowledge transfer to public authorities and industry stakeholders.
