Description

A metal additive manufacturing laboratory using Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam (PBF-LB) technology, equipped with three machines of different capacities to support activities ranging from the development of new materials to prototype manufacturing and small-batch production.

The facility includes a machine with four simultaneous lasers and advanced melt-pool monitoring, a standard machine, and an open-architecture machine for research. It is complemented by a vacuum induction melting furnace (ATO Cast).

Equipment

  • Renishaw RenAM 500Q PBF-LB system: Four 500 W lasers, build volume of 250 × 250 × 350 mm, and melt-pool monitoring.
  • Nikon SLM Solutions SLM 280HL PBF-LB system: 400 W laser, build volume of 280 × 280 × 350 mm.
  • Samylabs ALBA 300 PBF-LB system: 300 W laser, build volume of Ø160 × 200 mm.
  • ATO Cast vacuum melting furnace: 150 cm³ crucible, dual-wavelength pyrometer, and mold for eight bars.
