Description

The BATEK pilot plant enables the development and scale-up of technical-grade electrodes for Gen 3 and Gen 4 lithium batteries, as well as for technologies beyond lithium-ion.

It integrates advanced mixing, coating, and drying lines to optimize formulations and process parameters aimed at achieving high energy density, fast charging, reduced solvent use, and improved energy efficiency. The facility incorporates sensors and data acquisition systems to support the development of models and digital twins of the coating process.

Equipment

  • Pilot-scale slurry mixing and dispersion lines.
  • Electrode coating and drying systems designed for high loading and solvent-free processing.
  • Calendering and conditioning equipment.
  • Integrated sensors for monitoring the coating process.
  • Process data acquisition and management systems linked to modeling tools and digital twins.
Services
  • Development and optimization of technical-grade electrodes for Gen 3 and Gen 4 batteries.
  • Optimization of process parameters targeting energy density, power performance, and sustainability.
  • Evaluation of materials and formulations in formats representative of the final product.
  • Generation of high-value data for modeling, digital twins, and industrial scale-up.
  • Support for the development of technologies beyond lithium-ion, fuel cells, and supercapacitors.
