Description
CIDETEC’s Na-ion Lab focuses on sodium-based energy storage technologies as a sustainable alternative to lithium. It enables the development of cells using specialized cathode and anode materials, as well as the validation of new electrolytes and separators. Its equipment supports the manufacturing, testing, and comprehensive analysis of cells under conditions comparable to those used in commercial applications.
Equipment
- Coating and calendering equipment specifically designed for sodium-ion batteries.
- Processing of cathode materials (Prussian White, NVP, etc.) and anode materials (hard carbon, graphite, and carbon).
- Assembly of coin and pouch cells.
- Dedicated gloveboxes.
- Performance testing at different temperatures and extended cycle-life testing.
- Interface with industrial testing systems.
Services
- Assembly of sodium-ion cells using in-house materials or materials supplied by clients.
- Comparative studies with equivalent lithium-ion cells.
- Evaluation of stability, capacity retention, and energy efficiency.
- Development of environmentally friendly formulations based on abundant materials.
- Prototyping and material validation services for clients.
