A centre dedicated to the biological evaluation of biomaterials and medical devices, featuring a Class 100,000 cleanroom and integrated biotechnology and microbiology laboratories.

The facility enables biocompatibility, antimicrobial activity, and biofilm formation testing in accordance with ISO 10993 standards.

Equipment

The laboratory has the following equipment:

• Laminar flow hoods

• Refrigerators, freezers and deep-freezers (-80ºC)

• UV-visible spectrophotometer.

• Biofilm formation reactor.
• Automatic liquid dispenser.

• Filler, cryostat and microtome to prepare histological samples.
   

The cell culture room is a class 100,000 clean room and has the following equipment:

• Incubators with CO2 control.

• Refrigerated centrifuge.
• PCR thermal cycler.
• Vertical and horizontal electrophoresis.
• Transilluminator.
• Inverted microscope.
• Fluorescence microscope.
