Deskribapena

IDEKO’s Robotic Machining Research Cell is an advanced platform for developing and validating machining processes using industrial robots, designed for metallic and non-metallic components in demanding industrial sectors.

It integrates a heavy-duty industrial robot with a high-performance electrospindle, a rotary table for handling heavy components with coordinated robot–workpiece motion, and an automatic tool changer. This configuration enables complex machining operations with greater flexibility than conventional machine tools.

The cell is programmed using G-code and CAD/CAM software (PowerMill Robot) and incorporates a kinematic-dynamic virtual twin (Matlab/Simulink) for simulation, optimization, and pre-validation.

The platform also includes instrumentation for process monitoring—including force, vibration, vision, and thermography—cloud-based analytics, and a programmable real-time process control environment. These capabilities support R&D in machining strategies, precision, stability, productivity, and surface quality.
