TECNALIA's Surface Engineering Laboratory provides capabilities for designing, integrating and validating surface and coating solutions within the manufacturing sector.

The facility incorporates key equipment and technologies, including PVD systems (DC/MF/HIPIMS), plasma treatments (nitriding/nitrocarburizing and post-discharge processes), surface functionalization and plasma polymer deposition.

Its services include coating design and scale-up, durability and tribological testing, and the optimization of surface treatments and adhesion.

The laboratory aims to accelerate technological development and facilitate technology transfer to industrial environments through pilot projects, comparative testing and expert technical support.
