Three-phase low-voltage microgrid with advanced management and a Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) environment for developing and testing control systems, converters, and energy storage for distributed energy resources, as well as their stable interaction with the grid.
The facility integrates a low-voltage microgrid with grid emulation and distributed energy resources to test control strategies, converters (grid-forming/grid-following), energy storage systems, and grid services. It supports PHIL testing and the assessment of system stability and islanding operation.
Equipment
- Three grid emulators (3 × 50 kW).
- Two DC power supplies (100/280 kW).
- Single-phase and three-phase photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- 6 kW wind turbine.
- Grid-forming/grid-following converters (2 × 40 kW).
- RLC loads and battery/ultracapacitor banks.
- 250 kW flywheel energy storage system.
- Real-time simulator and two 50 kW amplifiers.
- Development of operating and control algorithms
- Testing of inverters and energy storage systems
- Testing of converters and reactive power compensation (STATCOM), islanding operation, and system stability
