This unit specializes in the manufacturing and processing of thermosetting and thermoplastic composites using a wide range of technologies, including Sheet Molding Compound (SMC), Resin Transfer Molding (RTM/CRTM), infusion, pultrusion, compression molding, multilayer lamination, filament winding, casting, injection molding, and thermoforming.

• Composite manufacturing cell for continuous fiber-reinforced composites
• Formulation and additive incorporation cell for thermoplastic and thermosetting resins
• Composite molding cell using RTM, CRTM, infusion, compression molding, and microwave oven processing
• Equipment for manufacturing SMC composites and thermosetting and thermoplastic prepregs
• Pilot plant for applying coatings to flexible substrates, with a paint-curing oven

• Development of composites and functional polymer compounds, including thermosetting and thermoplastic materials
• Development, application, and characterization of functional paints and coatings for polymer products
• Design, structural analysis, and manufacturing of composite components
• Sustainability and recyclability assessment of polymer-based composite materials
• Process sensing, monitoring, and automation
