Descripción

TEKNIKER laboratory dedicated to the synthesis, formulation and characterisation of nanoparticles and nanoscale dispersions. It enables nanoparticles to be produced using different methods (co-precipitation, sol-gel, high-shear mixing and ultrasonication), as well as the incorporation of nano- and microparticles or capsules into materials. Applications include coatings, composites, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and controlled-release systems.

The laboratory is equipped with comprehensive physicochemical characterisation facilities for monitoring particle size, surface properties, distribution and dispersion stability.

Equipment

  • Dispermat high-shear homogeniser with SL-012C1 mill
  • Ultrasonic baths and probes for high-volume processing (up to 5 L)
  • EXACT 50PLUS calender
  • N₂ physisorption analyser for measuring specific surface area (BET) and pore size (Quantachrome)
  • Laser particle size analyser (MASTERSIZER-MALVERN)
  • Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) analyser with Zeta potential and particle concentration measurement capabilities
