CIDETEC’s Li-ion Lab is dedicated to the development, optimization, and characterization of lithium-ion cells. It includes facilities for electrode synthesis, active material processing, and the assembly of coin, pouch, and cylindrical cells, as well as advanced electrochemical characterization.

This cross-disciplinary infrastructure supports both academic research and industrial innovation projects involving rechargeable batteries.

Equipment

• Slurry mixers and homogenizers
• Electrode coating equipment
• Calendering, cutting, and punching equipment
• Assembly stations for coin, pouch, and cylindrical cells
• Glove boxes with an inert atmosphere
• Electrochemical characterization equipment (EIS, CV, and galvanostatic testing)
• Direct access to a dry room and cell testing facilities

• Cell manufacturing for the validation of materials and formulations
• Electrochemical testing of capacity, efficiency, cycle life, and degradation
• Benchmarking against commercial reference products
• Development of silicon-, NMC-, LFP-, and other battery technologies
• Coin-cell services for accelerated screening
