Infrastructure for the characterisation, conditioning, and pretreatment of waste and biogenic feedstocks, with the aim of converting them into secondary raw materials suitable for thermochemical, biotechnological, or chemical processes.

Equipment

  • Crushing, milling, and particle size classification systems.
  • Drying equipment and moisture control systems.
  • Solid–liquid separation systems (pressing, centrifugation, and filtration).
  • Physicochemical pretreatment reactors (hydrolysis, alkaline and acid treatments).
  • Thermochemical pretreatment reactors (laboratory-scale pyrolysis, torrefaction, and gasification).
  • Lignocellulosic fractionation systems.
  • Extraction equipment.
  • Analytical equipment for biomass and waste characterisation (moisture, ash, sugars, lignin, TGA/DSC).
  • Conditioning systems for integration into fermentation or chemical synthesis processes.
