Descripción

The Forest Health Laboratory is dedicated to the comprehensive study of fungi, investigating both pathogenic and beneficial species from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Its research covers species identification, population dynamics and epidemiology, as well as their colonization capacity and dispersal mechanisms across different ecosystems.

The laboratory develops models to predict the optimal growth areas of both beneficial and pathogenic fungi, as well as their behavior and spread in the environment. In parallel, it conducts insect population studies to understand their role in interactions with these microorganisms and their impact on forest ecosystem health.

The laboratory also focuses on developing sustainable control methods by assessing the resistance, tolerance, and susceptibility of different forest species. It investigates the potential of natural substances and beneficial microorganisms for biotechnological applications, aiming to promote innovative, environmentally friendly solutions grounded in scientific knowledge.

Through this integrated approach, the laboratory seeks to contribute to ecosystem protection, sustainable forest management, and the responsible use of biological resources.
