Descripción

A platform integrating a range of equipment designed to study the behaviour, integrity, and degradation of materials, components, and systems exposed to hydrogen environments under severe pressure, temperature, and mechanical loading conditions.

It enables the assessment of phenomena associated with hydrogen embrittlement, permeation, and accelerated ageing, as well as the integrity of sealing systems and mechatronic components used in hydrogen applications.

The platform combines advanced mechanical testing, electrochemical testing, and elemental analysis capabilities, enabling comprehensive characterisation of metallic and non-metallic materials under operating conditions representative of hydrogen technologies.

Equipment

  • TESSA test bench: For the evaluation of components, seals, and sealing systems.
  • CORMET autoclave: For mechanical testing under pressure (up to 80 bar in H₂), with an integrated DCPD system for monitoring crack propagation.
  • MULTIMEC system: For static and dynamic (uniaxial/multiaxial) testing of mechatronic components and systems under extreme conditions.
  • Devanathan–Stachurski electrochemical cell: With µStat-i Multi16 multichannel potentiostat (Metrohm DropSens).
  • Hydrogen elemental analysis equipment: G4 Phonix (Bruker) and CHN628 (LECO).
  • Hydrogenation reactor: Autoclave vessel (15 bar and 400°C) for ageing in embrittling environments.
  • High-pressure vessel (400 bar): For ageing in H₂ environments.
  • CORMET FURNACE: Equipment for mechanical testing and ageing at high temperatures (800°C) in humid atmospheres.
  • Severe-condition integrity testing benches: With material degradation analysis capabilities.
Servicios
