The laboratory focuses on applied entomology, providing services to industry in accordance with the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) (EU) No. 528/2012.
It offers efficacy assessments of biocidal products (insecticides and repellents), pediculicides, and the development and validation of testing methods for product registration.
The facility has a specialised multidisciplinary team with expertise in chemistry, biology, and entomology, as well as dedicated infrastructure for reproducing controlled experimental conditions.
Equipment
- Climate-controlled insectaries housing more than 10 species
- Peet-Grady test chambers (25 m³, 0.34 m³, and 0.064 m³)

- Efficacy testing of insecticides and repellents against blood-feeding arthropods
