Descripción

Infrastructure for studying corrosion mechanisms and validating protection solutions (materials, coatings and inhibitors) through accelerated testing and exposure under real-world onshore/offshore conditions.

The facilities combine electrochemical testing and coating characterization capabilities with climatic chambers and high-temperature/high-pressure autoclaves. This makes it possible to reproduce harsh environments and compare different solutions based on service-life performance criteria.

The infrastructure is used both for failure diagnosis and for the qualification of protection solutions in demanding industrial applications.

Equipment

  • Salt spray and cyclic corrosion chambers.
  • Kesternich testing equipment.
  • UV-condensation and alternating immersion testing.
  • Particle impact testing.
  • Electrochemical testing (RDE, LSV, LPR).
  • High-temperature/high-pressure autoclaves.
  • Real-world exposure facilities (HarshLab, Port of Pasaia).
  • Coating characterization equipment:
    - Microscopy.
    - Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS).
    - FTIR.
