NEIKER’s High-Performance Plant Production Facility (Indoor Farming) strengthens its capabilities in agricultural and livestock production within the food sector. It is designed to support projects and validation activities in the agri-food sector.
The facility is equipped with key technologies, including chambers with temperature, lighting, and humidity control; movable bench positioning systems; and sensor and lighting systems, enabling operations with full traceability and reproducibility.
It offers services such as crop production and phenotyping, lighting and sensor trials, and the development of new foods and production systems. These services include trial planning, data collection, and results analysis.
Its aim is to reduce technical and scientific uncertainty and provide evidence to support knowledge transfer to public authorities and industry stakeholders.

- 50 m² of usable production space, with full climate control, including temperature, lighting, relative humidity, and CO₂ levels.
- Movable growing benches that allow the distance and intensity of lighting to be adjusted according to plant requirements.
- Sensor systems for real-time monitoring of light intensity and energy consumption.
- Robotic crop-handling systems, including automated positioning of growing benches.
- Sensors for real-time adjustment of nutrient formulation and monitoring of plant water stress.
- Specialized production systems optimized for growing leafy vegetable seedlings.
- Fully enclosed indoor facility, with no access to natural sunlight.
